Saturday, 10/28 - Monday 10/30
The long ride home begins. We wind through Maryland to get over to Rt 81 and stop at a few pretty spots in Cunningham Falls State Park.
Greg accuses me of taking a long way round, but really the GPS did send us this way. We pass near Camp David.
Long day driving, we stop the first night at a CrackerBarrel north of Knoxville. 509 miles today. We enjoy the leftovers from Fratelli's for dinner!
Sunday, 10/29
Across the looonnngggg state of Tennessee. But at least much of it is wooded and pleasant. We decide to drop down and go across I-20 and make it almost to Shreveport, LA - over 700 miles today! Stayed at another CrackerBarrel which had terrible service. We decided to just get dinner to go and it took forever and was luke warm. Oh well.
Monday, 10/30
Cold and rainy today and the temperature drops from 84 to 62 in a short time. An hour delay on I59 due to an 18-wheeler wreck. So we made sandwiches and inched along. The rain finally let up as we got close to home. Arrived home about 12:30. It's true - "There's no place like home."
Total trip was 5,466 miles. A few things to have checked on the Trek, but overall it did well and we learned a few things!
