We headed toward Calgary this morning, where we hoped to
find a part for the RV, but had no luck.
Visited an Apple store in a big Mall for some computer advice and a Home
Depot, then turned west towards Banff.
Approaching the Canadian Rockies
was beautiful and many of the mountains had a lot of snow.
We stopped for gas at a beautiful town called Canmore and saw a regal
elk munching away near the highway. The
temperatures were in the 40’s when we arrived at Tunnel Village II Campgrounds
and we found seven or eight of the “North to Alaska” group already there.
Spent some time talking with folks
and then had a nice dinner of chicken and salad before having a get-together
for all the RVers in our group. We met
in a nice closed-in shelter with a wood stove.
Our group has folks from Florida, North Caroline, Missouri, California,
Texas, Wisconsin, Nevada and more.
Mostly couples, but a few single men and women and everyone shared some
interesting and sometimes humorous stories.
Chilly night, but we were cozy.
