Sunday, February 16
Quiet day. Tom shared
some of their Hawaii pictures – gorgeous flowers and more. Walked the ridge
behind their house with Sue and then went to Sierra Vista to see the movie
“Monument Men”. Good cast, so-so movie,
though it would be interesting to learn more about the actual events it was
based on.
Chap and Mam arrived around 4:30 after the final day of the
show. We had some wine and a meal of
assorted leftovers from the week.
Watched some of the Olympics.
Monday, February 17
Chap and Mam went to do some shipping while Greg and I did
some grocery shopping, emptied tanks, filled water and did some laundry to
prepare for leaving tomorrow. Sue actually enjoys laundry and cleaning - I've invited her for an extended visit! Discussed
routes with Tom and Sue and checked weather forecasts.
Late morning we went to Tucson to pick up a new chair Tom
and Sue had ordered from a store called Copenhagen, then met Chap and Mam at
Old Tucson. It is a mock western town
where lots of movies and tv shows were filmed (Bonanza, The Virginian, Rio
Bravo, Wagon Train, etc.) We listened to
a couple of tours about movies, about old west transportation, and a humorous show about
western stunts.
Unfortunately, the barber was out!
Aftern Old Tucson, we went to the Casino Del Sol for a little gaming and Chap treated us to their buffet which was very good. This is inside the casino.
Back to Benson for last night. Watched a bit of Olympics and called it a night.
