Quite a few miles of dirt road to find this off-the-beaten path place - perfect for getting away from it all. The ranch is on 400 acres of rolling wooded and grassland with lots of cows, plus wild animals including some exotic game. We had an ATV (mule) to explore the area and sight animals and the last evening, Ronnie, our contact there drove us around and introduced us to some of the animals. Ruby tried sitting on one of the horses and on a donkey named Elvis. We saw deer, elk, water buffalo, red stags and more.
We spent hours in the pool, and had lots of other activities, including doing lots of puzzles, memory game, hula hoops, a game of chutes and ladders, shooting pool, playing with dominos, blowing bubbles, reading books, coloring, ring toss, cooking and eating of course, including lots of yummy treats. The house is decorated with wildlife and it took quite a while to find all of the animals including a huge long horn and many deer, plus statues and paintings of elephants and others. Lots of good conversation and stories, and we all tried to come up with suggestions for names for the new baby who will arrive next year. My favorites are Luke or Leah - Ruby's suggestions after being introduced to the Star War's crew!
Matt was able to come spend part of a day with us and brought canvas shoes and paints so the girls can design their own footwear. He and Ruby made some cool shoes.
