Japanese Festival, Houston Apr 2013
Today was a beautiful day for the Japanese Festival in Herman Park, Houston.
The area includes the permanent Japanese Gardens, and the festival featured dance, music, crafts, food and demonstrations. It also included an exhibit of Ikebana, Japanese flower arrangment.

HIgh Island, TX April 2013
Today we took a drive to High Island Texas, which is a popular migratory bird area. There are several wooded areas and there were lots of "serious" birders - and us :) Here are a few pictures of the egret and roseate spoonbill rookery.
